The Costco Advantage

As a membership retailer, they operate on lower margins, translating to everyday prices that are typically $5-10 below other major retailers. More importantly, Costco runs periodic sales that have seen the 128GB model drop to as low as $99.99 – a remarkable 33% discount off the standard retail price.

Maximizing Costco Savings

If you're not a Costco member, the potential savings might justify the $60 annual membership fee, especially if you plan to purchase multiple Apple products. Executive members ($120/year) receive a 2% reward on purchases, providing additional value for technology enthusiasts who shop regularly at the retailer.

Best Buy's Competitive Edge

While Best Buy's standard pricing typically matches Apple's MSRP of $149.99, they offer two significant advantages:

Price Matching Policy

Best Buy's robust price matching policy allows customers to secure Costco's pricing even without a Costco membership. Multiple users have reported success requesting price matches through Best Buy's online chat support, effectively accessing Costco's $99.99 sale price without paying for a warehouse membership.

Value-Added Bundles

Best Buy frequently offers the 128GB Apple TV 4K with three months of complimentary Apple services, including Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple Fitness+. For new subscribers, this represents approximately $30 in additional value, effectively reducing the net cost of the device.
